Dominion Raceway will host an extraordinary evening of short track racing and meaningful philanthropy with the Mini’s Mission 125, presented by W.G. Speeks and Barnes Paving on Saturday, June 14, 2025.

This event, part of the zMAX CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car series, the premier east coast racing tour, will feature an action-packed lineup including local racing divisions Dominion Stocks, Legends, and Bandos, delivering thrilling competition. Gates open at 3:00 PM, with a Fan Fest Meet and Greet promptly at 6:00 PM and racing beginning at 7:00 PM, at Dominion Raceway, located at 6501 Dominion Raceway Ave., Woodford, Virginia 22580. Just off Exit 118 of I-95.

The Mini’s Mission 125 is more than a race; it’s a celebration of hope, led by Mineral, Virginia’s Mini Tyrrell, a 20-year-old racing talent and founder of Mini’s Mission: Burn Rubber to Help Another a 501c3. Inspired in 2010 by his friend Ella’s battle with a brain tumor, Mini has raised over $680,000 for pediatric cancer research and support through his foundation. This year, Mini’s Mission collaborates with Parents and Children Fighting Cancer to host 30 families from Walter Reed Children’s National Hospital for an all-expenses-paid weekend. The VIP experience includes a Friday-night dinner, a chapel service, pit tours with CARS Tour teams, and a special moment during driver introductions, creating cherished memories for these young fans and their families.

“Mini’s Mission harnesses the excitement of racing to uplift kids facing incredible challenges,” said Mini Tyrrell. “Their smiles, as they immerse themselves in the CARS Tour experience, means more than any victory. We’re honored to give these families a weekend to remember.”

CARS Tour Legacy and Local Talent

Since its launch in 2015, the zMAX CARS Tour has been a cornerstone of Southeast short track racing, showcasing top Late Model talent. Revitalized in 2023 by owners Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick, and Justin Marks, the series has launched drivers like Josh Berry, Layne Riggs, and Brenden Queen to NASCAR’s national series. Dominion Raceway’s .400-mile oval, with 14-degree banking, has hosted eight CARS Tour races, each with a unique winner, setting the stage for a fierce battle to become the track’s first repeat victor.

Past winners:

  • Brenden Queen (2024)

  • Bobby McCarty (2023)

  • Connor Hall (2022)

  • Daniel Silvestri (2021)

  • Jonathan Findley (2020)

  • Josh Berry (2019)

  • Jared Fryar (2018)

  • Layne Riggs (2017)

The 2025 season has delivered thrilling moments, with Mini Tyrrell ending a three-year winless streak at the Accent Imaging 125 at Wake County Speedway on March 29, dominating for his second career CARS Tour win. The Late Model Stock Car (LMSC) points standings are led by Landen Lewis, with wins at ACE and North Wilkesboro, followed by Connor Hall, Kade Brown, and the consistent Landon Huffman. Mini Tyrrell remains competitive with three top-five, three top-10 finishes, two poles, and currently sits 6th in points.

The Mini’s Mission 125 will showcase local and notable drivers. Joining Mini Tyrrell is Maryland, Virginia’s Dustin Storm, known for his smooth driving and local fanbase, and Maryland's Conner Weddell, 2023 INEX Legends Champion at Dominion and current top rookie contender in weekly Division I racing at DR.

Mason Bailey, Aaron Donnelly, Landon Pembelton (2024 DR LMSC Champion) and Daniel Silvestri (2021 CARS Tour Winner). Doug Barnes Jr., a veteran with multiple LMSC wins (2 Championships '17 & '19) at Dominion is expected to contend as well. Other standout entries include Lanie Buice, Ronnie Bassett Jr., and other rising stars ensuring a competitive 29-car field.

A Night of Racing and Impact

The Mini’s Mission 125 will deliver the intense, door-to-door racing Dominion Raceway is known for, with Mini Tyrrell, piloting the No. 81 Convenience Tire and Auto Chevrolet, leveraging his impressive home-track record—three top-five and four top-10 finishes in four CARS Tour starts, including a career-best second in 2020. Fans can expect heart-pounding battles on the high-banked oval.

Beyond the track, Mini’s Mission reflects Tyrrell’s commitment to his community. Starting racing at age 10, Mini earned the 2019 CARS Tour Rookie of the Year title and has competed in over 70 races. His fundraising began with a $25,000 donation at the Angel Kisses 5K, prompting NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon to match a later $7,000 contribution. Mini’s Mission has since become a vital force, providing emotional and financial support to families battling pediatric cancer.
