2nd Annual Dickie Boswell Memorial 200

Dominion Raceway is happy to host the 2nd Annual Dickie Boswell Memorial 200 LAP LMSC Event, a special tribute to the late Dickie Boswell, a beloved figure in the racing community. This event marks the opening of the 2024 season at Dominion Raceway, a venue that has been at the heart of the racing scene for decades, hosting events that have shaped the careers of many racers and fans alike.

Dickie Boswell, affectionately known as "Dickie" or "Boz," was a Maryland native who spent most of his racing years raising a family and making a name for himself in the racing world. A graduate of Bladensburg High School, Dickie entered the US Army as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division before embarking on a career in racing. His passion for speed and competition was evident in his numerous victories at Old Dominion Speedway, where he raced in the Late Model division for many years, amassing over 50 racing wins.

Boswell's racing career was not confined to the short track circuit. He was a frequent competitor in the Xfinity Series, participating in 57 races from 1981 to 1988, and even made a brief stint in ARCA in 1985. His legacy in the racing world is undeniable, and his impact on the sport is felt through the generations of racers he inspired.

The Dickie Boswell Memorial 200 LMSC Event is a celebration of Dickie's life and his contributions to the racing community. It's a chance for fans, racers, and the racing community to come together to honor his memory and support the sport they love. All proceeds from the event will go directly to the purse and special awards, ensuring that the event remains a testament to Dickie's spirit and his love for racing.

Master of Ceremonies for the event will be Dick "Dickie" Gore, the Promoter Emeritus of Dominion Raceway. Gore will share stories and memories of Dickie, providing a glimpse into the life and career of a true racing legend. The event promises to be a night of racing thrills, memories, and a tribute to one of racing's greats.

We invite everyone to join us on March 30th for the 200 laps of racing thrills and memories. Whether you're a fan, a racer, or someone who appreciates the spirit of competition, the Dickie Boswell Memorial 200 LMSC Event is a must-attend event. In addition to the 200 Lap Late Model Stock Car main event we will also host a showdown between two series with the USAC and NEMA Midgets hitting the track with times as fast as the LMSC's! We will also start off the 2024 Carlisle III Home Inspection & Consulting INEX Bandoleros Season as well as in memory of our good friend Jason Theriault, the first Legends race of the season will be a 28 lap race.

Make plans to be there and help us make this the special racers' event that Dickie Boswell would be ultra proud of.
